About FRS
A passive fire specialist built around practical site knowledge and clear evidence.
Overview
Fire Rated Systems works across new construction, refurbishment and existing buildings throughout Western Australia. The business focuses on passive fire: the parts of a building intended to contain fire and smoke and to maintain the performance of fire-rated construction.
What FRS does
FRS delivers fire door work, service penetration fire stopping, structural fire protection, fire-rated construction, passive fire inspection, defect rectification, and the technical and handover support around them. The work ranges from construction-stage packages to existing buildings with incomplete records, ageing assets and site conditions that do not match the original detail.
How FRS works
Passive fire sits at the interface between structure, services, architecture and building operation. That makes the job less about applying a product and more about understanding the actual condition, checking what evidence supports the proposed detail, coordinating access and sequencing, and recording what was installed.
The aim is to make those interfaces clear while they can still be resolved, rather than expensive at handover.
Complex and operating buildings
A large part of the FRS project record sits in hospitals, transport, industrial facilities, grain handling, aged care and other buildings where access, shutdowns and occupied areas have to be planned around. Work in those environments is a different discipline: the programme belongs to the building, not to the contractor.
That experience sits alongside commercial new build and refurbishment, where the passive fire scope is defined in the documents and the challenge is coordination, sequencing and evidence rather than access.
What we can back up
Ask FRS to back something up and you get the project record: the register, the photographs taken before the work was concealed, the test evidence behind the detail, and the licences and certificates themselves. What you will not get is a number nobody can trace, a blanket compliance claim, or a line that could have been written by any contractor in the state.
What this site covers
This site is about the passive fire side of what we do — fire doors, service penetrations, structural protection, ducts and dampers, fire-rated construction, inspection and rectification. It is not the whole of the business. Wet fire, dry fire, fire engineering and drafting are all done in house. If you need any of that, call us and ask.

Drawings, photos or a defect report in front of you?
Send what you already have. We will tell you what else is needed before the work can be reviewed, priced or booked for site inspection.
